Why this can change the estimate

If the allowed Premium Tax Credit exceeds Column C, the difference may increase the refund. If Column C is higher, the excess is added to tax. For 2026, the prior income-based repayment caps no longer apply.

Payments and review

What has already been paid?

Refunds come from payments and refundable credits exceeding the estimated tax.
